App modernisation is a managed service for the mobile app you keep meaning to deal with. Here is why we built it the way we did.
The problem we kept seeing
Every business with a legacy mobile app sits in the same trap. The app works, just about. The design is dated. The sign-up flow is broken on newer phones. Build tools carry security gaps. Every iOS or Android update brings another round of urgent fixes. And every agency quote for a rebuild comes back too high, too slow, and too unpredictable.
Most businesses do the minimum to stay listed. Ratings slip. Users drift away. The cost of doing nothing is not zero. It shows up in user retention, brand exposure, and security liability sitting in your old build tools.
We built the modernisation service because that trap was costing real businesses real money, and the existing options (agency rebuild or DIY platform) did not fit.
The thesis
Modernisation is a different problem from a bespoke build. It rewards a different process: fixed scope, fixed price, fast turnaround, and a managed service after delivery. Once you accept that, you can use AI to do the mechanical translation work that used to consume 80% of an agency's billed hours, and you can charge a flat monthly fee to keep the app current afterwards.
That is the entire Multizone thesis: app modernisation should look more like a subscription than a project.
How we are built
- Founder-led. You speak to Angus. There is no account manager between you and the work.
- UK-based. Multizone Limited is a UK company. Delivery is by a long-standing UK developer network. Data is held in UK regions where applicable.
- AI-augmented, not AI-only. Our pipeline accelerates translation; our engineers own the result. Every screen is reviewed before delivery.
- Specialist by design. We do one thing (modernise legacy mobile apps and manage them ongoing) and we say no to bespoke builds and platform projects.
- Aligned commercially. Our subscription model is profitable only if your app stays healthy. We have no incentive to manufacture problems.
A note from Angus

"Three years ago I kept seeing the same problem. Businesses with mobile apps that worked, just about, but were slowly becoming a liability. Dated design. Security gaps. App Store compliance headaches. And agency quotes that made modernisation feel impossible.
"The businesses were not failing. Their apps were failing them. I built Multizone's app modernisation service to fix that.
"If your app is a problem you keep putting off, I would genuinely love to talk."
