Joomla 6.2 came out on 13 October, and we have checked every Multizone extension against it. Since our last email MetaGen has also gone further as a free SEO audit, and our paid extensions now show their prices where you decide whether to upgrade.
Joomla 6.2 — ready when you are
Joomla 6.2 adds OAuth2 sign-in for sending email, and TinyMCE now follows Joomla's text filters. There are no breaking changes for extensions.
- Every Multizone extension installs and runs on Joomla 6.2. We tested each one on a Joomla 6.2 site.
- Updates keep coming on Joomla 6. All our extensions are offered updates on Joomla 4.4, 5 and 6 through the normal update screen.
- Joomla 5 is now security fixes only. If your site is still on Joomla 5, it's a good time to plan the move to 6. Our extensions work on both.
As always, update Joomla first, then your extensions from System → Update → Extensions.
MetaGen — more of what audits find, fixed for you
- Shorter page titles, same headlines. Title too long now measures the title search engines actually see, and the fix fills in a shorter Browser Page Title instead of cutting your article's headline. Shortened titles no longer end on a word like "for" or "the".
- Large images. The site scan lists every image of 500 KB or more, with the articles that use it, ready to resize.
- Links to redirects. The scan finds links that only work through a redirect — often left behind when pages move — and gives the address to link to instead.
- Category pages. Category pages a menu leads to are checked for a single H1, and they now carry share cards for X and other social networks, as articles do.
- A site still loading over HTTP. A new check warns when your site answers on plain http:// instead of redirecting to HTTPS. Browsers hide this, but audits report it as "Canonical from HTTP to HTTPS". The fix is one setting in Global Configuration.
- Only pages people can see. Counts and fixes now leave out unpublished, archived, trashed and members-only articles, so the dashboard shows only the problems visitors can actually reach.
- Why this matters. Each row on the SEO tune-up links to a page explaining the warning, why Joomla sites get it, and how to fix it. They're all in Joomla SEO warnings explained.
MetaGen is free, with no key. Our own site still scores 100 on Ahrefs, with no SEO issues.
Prices where you decide
In Cassiopeia Themer, Article Generator, Content Amplifier, Payments, Proposals and Verified Forms:
- The trial banner shows from day one as a quiet strip with what the next tier costs, turning to a warning only in the last week.
- Upgrade buttons show the price, and reaching a limit tells you what the next tier costs, with a link to the pricing page.
- A pricing page before checkout. Choosing a tier now shows what it includes first, instead of going straight to the card form.
Also updated
- Subscriptions Manager: a trial email sequence — welcome, check-in, reminders and a win-back — that you can preview, edit and send from the Customers page; a Trial to paid table on the dashboard; Samsung Galaxy Store badges for mobile apps; and update feeds that reach Joomla 6 sites.
- Payments: buying an extension plan always issues or upgrades the buyer's subscription key, and returning customers count as new paid on the day they buy.
- Every extension: the "Rate us on the JED" card now goes away when you press Maybe later or Don't ask again, even with Joomla's caching on.
Updating
All of these arrive through the normal Joomla update screen. Take a backup first, and check your site afterwards.
Thanks for using our extensions for Joomla. If one of them has saved you time, a review on the Joomla Extensions Directory helps other people find it.
