I have a level of determination to find out what I need to plan my business for the next year at #WPC10. Of course there will be time for beers and parties but I didnt come here with the express intention of the parties and beer being the main reason for the event. Chatting on the plane to some folks from another partner I got the distinct impression that was exactly and entirely their plan. A world of infinite possibilities for them that perhaps Microsoft did not fully envision. For me it is all about technology. Microsoft are not the only move and shaker in this industry and are treated with disdain by many especially their competition. I can confidently say this while writing this on My Macbook Pro and remembering the level of incredulity from some of my ‘open source’ friends that I am at their conference again. Be that as it may, the Microsoft sessions about the industry, the competition, and the shape of the business to come, are always well thought out, detailed, and represent the thinking of some of the smartest minds in the industry. Yes they have an agenda - but you have to see beyond that - and figure out what it means to you and to your business - not necessarily and only what Microsoft want it to mean for you and your business. I am looking forward to the event. Off to registration.
