Hi Paul.. I think we should have a 928uk meeting driving whose purpose is driving aimlessley round a seaside resort on a bank holiday - show these max power yobbos how its really done :-)
I hope you wouldnt disapprove of my german lettered plates... Ive been past hundreds of traffic cop cars since I got them and not a word - I think they look lovely anyway and my tentative defence is that they are EU conformant your honour ...

Just to add my two penneth into the noise debate, as one of Her Majesty's finest, we deal with excessive noise, both exhaust and stereo, with the boy racers, with "causing a public nuisance". This a relatively new piece of legislation and can ultimately lead to the confiscation of their car ! Whilst I doubt that firstly, anyone who runs a 928 would be put in the boy racer bracket and secondly you would be unlucky enough to meet a traffic policeman who had had a really really bad day, the offence can be dealt with. I think my bosses think of this, as only really intended, as a ways and means of getting the convoys of boy racers, that drive round aimlessly at seaside resorts, on a bank holiday, to sling their hooks or risk have their cars impounded.
I am a total liberal of course and provided you drive a 928 you would be exempt from this and get a verbal warning for everything else.(Well maybe not everything !)

Hi Andrew,
I think excessive noise is a road traffic offence, it's just not on the list for the MOT.
It's part of the "construcion and Use" regulations. I found to my suprise some years ago, when looking at them, that it is not a legal requirement to have a floor in a car !
