Surrey Police introduces smart phone app - 23/08/2011 - info4security
The new solution - dubbed 'Surrey Police Beat' - allows end users to view what crimes are happening on their streets in a convenient format and, for the first time, gives live updates on where and how neighbourhood police teams are taking action.
Following a successful trial by police staff and officers in Runnymede, the app is now available for free public download from the Apple iPhone App Store and will soon be available for the Google Android market and BlackBerry. It can currently only be used in the pilot area, but it's hoped to eventually have a countywide roll-out.
